Η Μαρξιστική Πολιτική Οικονομία είναι ζωντανή, μαχόμενη και δημιουργική ακόμη (και) στον Πανεπιστημιακό χώρο. Έννοιες όπως αξία, τιμή, υπεραξία, κέρδος, οικονομική κρίση ακόμη αποτελούν αντικείμενο θεωρητικής και εμπειρικής ενασχόλησης και έρευνας αλλά και έντονης διαμάχης μεταξύ των μαρξιστών οικονομολόγων.
Στους τελευταίους ανήκει και ο Simon Mohun (Ομότιμος Καθηγητής Πολιτικής Οικονομίας στο Queen Mary University of London) που παραδίδει τρία σεμινάρια στις 9, 10 και 11 Δεκεμβρίου στην Αθήνα (σε αίθουσα του Τμήματος Οικονομικών Επιστημών - Τομέας Πολιτικής Οικονομίας, οδός Ευριπίδου 14, 6ος όροφος, είσοδος ελεύθερη, ώρα έναρξης 6μ.μ.).
Όπως είναι φυσικό για ένα ρεύμα σκέψης στο οποίο η έννοια της οικονομικής κρίσης κατέχει περίοπτη θέση (σε πλήρη αντίθεση με το τι συμβαίνει στα κατεστημένα οικονομικά, τα οποία αγνοούν εντελώς την έννοια αυτή) τα σεμινάρια κλείνουν με μια θεωρητικά και εμπειρική συζήτηση για την τρέχουσα κρίση, και τη σημασία που έχει η ταξική οπτική γωνία στη σωστή αποτύπωση και αποτίμησή της.

All lectures will take place at 14 Evripidou Street (6th floor) and will commence at 18:00
Theme: The division of Political Economy of the Department of Economics is registering broad interest from students and scholars on issues relating to classical political economy and the possibility of conducting contemporary research originating from this tradition. In this regard, Prof. Simon Mohun will lecture both on the Marxist theory of value, price and profit and its applications to financialization and crisis.
We hope that Professor Mohun’s lectures will help faculty and students identify important aspects of Marxist political economy and trigger academic discussion on the current economic crisis at the same time.
